Nonna Louise's Arrival

It's weird how you get those butterflies in your stomach when you get nervous or anxious. Well we all had them just before Louise arrived. Even though we skype every single day and talk on the phone, we were ALL so excited to have our nonna back. No one could sleep the night before and Luc was the first one up at 6 ready to jump up and go to the airport. We got her and all the bags (of course most were for us) and Luc's boogie board.

Made a few important stops on the way home and spent the afternoon settling her in.
Her first day ended with a walk on Playa Grande to watch the sunset and a beautiful meal by the pool.
Since then, we have brought her to her favourite beach, Playa Real, as well as other beaches and today was our exciting sailing day on Mateo's boat. He took us to Honey Moon bay ( just like up at Georgian Bay) where the waters were turquoise with a white sand beach.

Playa Grande sunset

Playa Avellanas beach day - a beautiful beach during low tide, as lots of rocks and huge waves.  Rip tide was very strong this day and our  surfer friend had to rescue 2 people.

But even though, great day!!!!

 Nonna's new friend:  the Iguana....
Monkeys hanging from the branches :  that would be Luc and his tribe.

Early morning Zumba dance class for Louise ! Look at her go !  With our super nice and amazing instructor, Norma!!

A DAY AT SEA ON THE MANTARAY CATAMARAN:

Our friend Mateo from Italy does charters to gorgeouse beaches and spots.  Today we were able to go to Honey Moon Beach as the waters were calm.  Looks like Bahamas.  We all enjoyed the drinks:  esp. Nonna and her rum punch, the snorkeling and the swimming.

What a day!!!
 Nonna found a starfish !

Nonna's new Costa Rican boyfriend !!  Although, he had his eyes on Nicky the whole time,  he he...

Gorgeous turquoise waters and white sand :  and of course Nicky has to make a grande entrance....

Nicky snorkeling and catching a blow fish:  look under the surface of the water and you will see the blue blowfish our guide caught.

The kids relaxing in the water hammock !
Once we got Louise in the water, she loved it and couldn't get her out. Nicky and I swam so far to snorkle and saw so many fish. OUr guide caught a few blow fish and star fish and had an octopus wrapped around his hand that kept inking him. A fantastic day and we are all burned out tonight.
Stopped at an Italian Pizzeria on the way back home and spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool.

This is Semana Santa here and all of Costa Rica is on Holiday for Easter. TOns of Costa Ricans from San Jose so the roads and beaches are the busiest we have ever seen. They won't even sell you liquor from today to Monday, so of course we stocked up the vino for Louise.

Spent a day at playa Negra aswell enjoying the low tide waves and little rock pools of water. Another beautiful beach !

That evening, we were also all invited to see a latino dance show on the Reserva Conchal - Paradissio, a 5 star resort. Much to overrated and americano !!

Louise's week with us is almost up and were gona miss her soso much. Had a great time seeing our nonna again !! If only she could stay the entire time..
